KNEC Announces 2025 KJSEA Examiners Training for TSC and PSC Registered Teachers — Eligibility, Application & Key Dates

The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has officially launched the application process for the 2025 KJSEA Examiners Training, targeting qualified teachers ahead of the Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA) scheduled for October 2025.

This crucial training initiative, set to run between July and August 2025, is designed to equip teachers with the necessary skills to effectively assess learners under the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).

Training Format, Fees, and Venue

In its announcement dated Tuesday, July 1, 2025, KNEC confirmed that the training will follow a blended model — combining online and in-person sessions. A Ksh 10,500 training fee is required from shortlisted candidates to cover all components of the program.

Importantly, the physical training sessions will be strictly residential, and the exact venue will be communicated directly to shortlisted applicants after the selection process.

“The venue for the residential training will be communicated to the qualified trainees later, where the exercise will be strictly residential,” read part of the KNEC statement.

Benefits of Completing the Training

Upon successful completion of the program and meeting all criteria, participants will qualify for consideration as official examiners for the 2025 KJSEA. This opportunity provides teachers not only with additional income but also with a critical professional development milestone aligned with national education reform goals.

“Qualified examiners will be engaged by KNEC to mark KJSEA using the criteria for recruitment of examiners based on the personnel needs for each paper,” the Council emphasized.
