How Teachers Will Be Scored – Key Highlights from TSC Scoresheet
TSC will use the 2025–2026 promotion scoresheet to evaluate candidates. The main factors include age, years of service, administrative experience, and TPAD ratings. Academic qualifications carry very minimal weight.
Age Marks Distribution (Maximum 30 Marks)
- 57 years & above – 30 marks
- 52–56 years – 25 marks
- 47–51 years – 20 marks
- 42–46 years – 15 marks
- 41 years & below – 10 marks
Years of Service in Current Grade (Maximum 30 Marks)
- 7 years & above – 30 marks
- 6 years – 25 marks
- 5 years – 20 marks
- 4 years – 15 marks
- 3 years – 10 marks
Academic & Professional Qualifications (Maximum 3 Marks)
- PhD – 3 marks
- Master’s – 2 marks
- Degree – 1 mark
- Diploma – 0 marks
Note: Academic certificates account for only 3 out of 100 marks, showing that experience and age outweigh academic qualifications in this promotion cycle.
Other Key Considerations
- Administrative roles (Head/Deputy Head Teachers) – up to 25 marks if evidence of service is provided.
- TPAD Ratings (Performance Appraisal) – up to 10 marks (based on the last 3 years).
- ASAL Teachers – will benefit from affirmative action.
Minimum requirement: Teachers must have served at least 3 years in their current grade to be eligible, except those in ASAL regions.
