Musalia Mudavadi, the prime cabinet secretary, has been named by President William Ruto as the interim cabinet secretary for all ministries.

A special Gazette Notice dated July 11 states that Mudavadi will assume the CS position across all ministries.

According to Ruto, in order to integrate operational improvements and promote responsive governance, his administration must be reviewed and reorganized.

He claimed he made the decision after receiving a tonne of feedback from Kenyans regarding how well the government was carrying out its duties.

The notice states, “Therefore, by the Authority vested in me by the Constitution and the Laws of the Republic of Kenya, I, William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defense Forces, do hereby order and direct that the Cabinet Secretaries listed below have been dismissed from office as stated in accordance with Article 152 (5) (b) of the Constitution.”
