Narok County Public Service Board Hiring– 30 Posts
The Narok County Public Service Board is inviting applications from qualified, competent, and dedicated individuals to fill 30 Game Warden positions in the Department of Tourism and Wildlife.
These positions are established under Article 235 of the Constitution of Kenya (2010) and the County Governments Act (No. 17 of 2012), Section 59(1)(b).
Position Details
- Job Title: Game Wardens
- Job Group: “F”
- Number of Posts: 30
- Salary Range: Kshs. 25,470 – Kshs. 33,950
- Allowance: As per Public Service Guidelines
Duties and Responsibilities
Game Wardens will be responsible for the following:
- Enforcing wildlife conservation laws and policies.
- Conducting patrols to prevent poaching and illegal activities.
- Monitoring and reporting on wildlife movement and conflicts.
- Supporting research and data collection initiatives.
- Collaborating with communities on human-wildlife conflict solutions.
- Protecting ecological zones through routine surveillance.
- Engaging in wildlife rescue missions and providing first aid to injured animals.
- Assisting in firefighting and disaster response in wildlife areas.
- Performing basic maintenance of conservation infrastructure and equipment.
- Educating the public and visitors on conservation rules and responsible behavior.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Be a Kenyan citizen aged between 18 and 26 years.
- Hold a KCSE certificate with a minimum of D+ (Plus) mean grade.
- Possess a valid Certificate of Good Conduct.
- Have a clean criminal record and excellent health.
- Be physically and mentally fit for field work.
- Female candidates are encouraged to apply.
Additional Requirements
Interested candidates should also:
- Be ready to undergo a 3-month paramilitary training.
- Demonstrate commitment to wildlife protection and conservation.
- Not be engaged in any criminal or disciplinary cases.
- Provide copies of the following documents:

- Clearance from EACC, HELB, KRA, CRB & Police
- Dully filled PSC2 (Revised 2016) application form (available at www.publicservice.go.ke)
