Available Judicial Vacancies – July 2025
1. Judge of the Court of Appeal (15 Positions)
- Ref No.: V/No. 14/2025
- Location: Any Court of Appeal station in Kenya
- Key Duties: Hear and determine appellate matters, deliver timely judgments, interpret the Constitution and laws, contribute to jurisprudence
- Appointment: By the President on JSC recommendation, per the Constitution
2. Judge of the High Court (20 Positions)
- Ref No.: V/No. 15/2025
- Location: Any High Court station across Kenya
- Key Duties: Handle civil, criminal, constitutional, and election-related cases, write judgments, and interpret laws
- Appointment: Constitutional terms until retirement
3. Judge of the Environment and Land Court (10 Positions)
- Ref No.: V/No. 16/2025
- Location: Any Environment and Land Court station nationwide
- Key Duties: Resolve disputes related to land, environment, and planning, and develop legal precedent in the land sector
- Appointment: As per the Environment and Land Court Act and Constitution
4. Resident Magistrate (100 Positions)

- Location: Resident Magistrate Courts across Kenya
- Key Duties: Adjudicate civil and criminal cases, manage courtroom proceedings, issue fair rulings, and apply alternative dispute resolution mechanisms
- Appointment: As defined by the Judicial Service Act
5. Resident Kadhi (5 Positions)
- Ref No.: V/No. 18/2025
- Location: Any Kadhis’ Court in Kenya
- Key Duties: Hear personal law matters involving Muslims—marriage, divorce, and inheritance—under Islamic law
- Appointment: As per the Kadhis’ Courts Act and Constitution
