KNEC stated:
“The 2024 KCSE exam papers and marking schemes can now be purchased from our bookshop at New Mitihani House, South C, Nairobi. The booklet includes all subjects.”
Cost and Payment Details
- Price per copy: Ksh. 2,200
- Payment method: Mobile money via a designated Paybill account
The release comes six months after the 2024 KCSE examinations were conducted and four months after results were officially released in January 2025.
Stakeholders React to Distribution Approach
Following the announcement, stakeholders raised concerns about the lack of digital accessibility. According to a post by Teachersupdates.co.ke, some education professionals were unhappy that the past papers and marking guides were not available online.
One frustrated teacher commented:
“Just offer downloadable files, and a subscription fee. For God’s sake, this is the 21st century.”
Calls for Digitization
There are increasing calls for KNEC to follow the example of countries like South Africa, which offer digital portals for past exam papers, examiners’ reports, and marking schemes. Education experts argue that this would increase access and support for schools nationwide.
