Grade 10 Selection Temporarily Stopped — Reasons Explained
Grade 10 Selection Temporarily Stopped — Reasons Explained, The Grade 10 school selection exercise has been paused due to a technical error involving OTP (One-Time Password) codes.
Ministry Issues Suspension Order
County and Sub-County Directors have asked school heads to pause the process until the issue is fixed.
The platform faced repeated errors that blocked progression in selecting pathways, subjects, and senior schools.
When the Selection Began and Its Purpose
The exercise started on June 9, 2025, and was planned to end on June 30, 2025.
Grade 9 learners are expected to:
- Choose one career pathway
- Select three subject combinations
- Pick twelve senior schools
The STEM pathway is mandatory for all learners under the CBC system.
How Learners Must Choose Their Schools
Each learner selects:
- Nine boarding schools (three within their county and six outside)
- Three day schools within their sub-county
Every subject combination requires schools from four clusters:
- Cluster 1 & 2: Boarding schools outside the county
- Cluster 3: Boarding or hybrid schools within the county
- Cluster 4: Day schools in the sub-county
This structure promotes equal access and regional diversity.
