The Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) is seeking qualified and motivated individuals to serve as Field Assistants for an upcoming data collection exercise in Kisii. Key Responsibilities:
- Obtain Informed Consent: Clearly explain the study’s purpose, procedures, risks, and benefits to participants, ensuring that informed consent is obtained before any data is collected.
- Conduct Household Surveys: Administer structured questionnaires in a consistent and respectful manner, ensuring that all responses are accurately recorded, free from personal bias or influence.
- Uphold Ethical Standards: Follow the study protocol diligently, including maintaining strict confidentiality of participant information, showing respect and cultural sensitivity, and adhering to all ethical and regulatory guidelines throughout the research process.
- Engage with Participants: Maintain open and courteous communication with participants, addressing any concerns or questions to foster trust and cooperation.
- Daily Reporting: Participate in routine debriefing sessions with the project supervisor to review progress, share field experiences, and resolve emerging issues.
- Tool and Equipment Management: Ensure proper handling, safety, and accountability of all research tools, equipment, and materials provided for fieldwork.
- Timely Problem Reporting: Proactively identify and report any field-related challenges, irregularities, or unexpected situations to the research team for prompt resolution.
- Support Project Activities: Provide assistance with other project-related tasks as assigned by the research team, contributing to the overall success of the study.
