CEMASTEA Announces New Dates for Online JSS Teacher Training – Here’s the Updated Schedule, The Centre for Mathematics, Science and Technology Education in Africa (CEMASTEA) has officially announced new dates for its much-anticipated online training program for Junior Secondary School (JSS) teachers.
Initially planned for a one-day session on Monday, 16th June 2025, the training was postponed after logistical challenges and poor awareness among teachers caused the original session to flop.
Revised CEMASTEA Training Dates
The online training has now been rescheduled to span four days:
- 30th June 2025
- 1st July 2025
- 2nd July 2025
- 3rd July 2025
The sessions will be fully virtual, delivered through the CEMASTEA portal and other approved online platforms. This adjustment is aimed at ensuring adequate preparation and maximum participation by all targeted teachers.
Who Will Attend the Training?
- Over 20,000 newly recruited JSS teachers on a one-year internship contract
- P1 teachers deployed to JSS who have not yet received ICT integration training
- STEM teachers redeployed from primary schools
This initiative is part of CEMASTEA’s effort to enhance the use of ICT in teaching and learning, aligning with ongoing Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) reforms.
