These scholarships are fully funded and support postgraduate studies (Master’s and PhD levels) in top UK universities, beginning in September/October 2026.
About the 2026 Commonwealth Scholarships
The Commonwealth Scholarships are administered by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC) in the UK. The program aims to support:
- Sustainable development in low and middle-income Commonwealth countries
- Capacity building through high-quality postgraduate education
- Equity and inclusion, ensuring talented students from all backgrounds access top-tier education

Fields of study must align with one of the CSC’s development themes, such as:

Eligibility Criteria for Kenyan Applicants
To be eligible, an applicant must:
- Be a Kenyan citizen or permanent resident
- Hold a first degree of at least upper second-class honours (for Master’s)
- Hold a relevant Master’s degree (for PhD applicants)
- Not be registered for a PhD or Master’s at a UK university
- Be available to start study in the UK by September 2026
What the Scholarship Covers
The 2026 Commonwealth Scholarship includes:
- Full tuition fees
- Airfare to and from the UK
- Monthly living stipend
- Thesis and research grants (where applicable)
- Warm clothing allowance (if needed)
- Family allowance (for select PhD candidates with dependants)
